Disney Conducts Height Tests for Piston Peak National Park

Disney Imagineers have been conducting height tests for Piston Peak National Park at Magic Kingdom. A photo from Disney Parks Blog revealed a red balloon floating over the construction site with Cinderella Castle in the background.

The red balloon test is standard for tall structures when sightlines are a concern. Imagineers were considering sightlines when it came to the Cars-themed area, ensuring car architecture would not be visible from Main Street, U.S.A., Liberty Square, or other areas of the park.

A red balloon was likely raised to the height of a planned Piston Peak structure and photographed from different angles to see how visible it will be. This helps Imagineers alter and finalize designs accordingly.
