Disney Confirms Changes to Polynesian Village Resort’s Island Tower
Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida has confirmed changes to its Polynesian Village Resort. This comes as part of the resort's ongoing evolution and redevelopment efforts.
The Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows is set to undergo construction work. The tower was added in December 2024, marking the first high-rise addition to the property since its opening in 1971. It supplements the classic longhouse rooms with new room categories, including Duo Studios and Two-Bedroom Penthouse Villas.
The design of the Island Tower draws on Polynesian wayfinding, a theme that Walt Disney Imagineering brought to life by partnering with artists on original artwork found throughout the property. The tower's amenities have also stood out among the resort’s offerings, including Wailulu Bar & Grill and Moana’s Voyage Splash Area.
