Disney Creators Reveal Secrets Behind Magic Kingdoms

Academy Award- and Emmy-nominated filmmaker Leslie Iwerks' new documentary 'Disney Worldbuilders' is set to premiere on Disney+ on August 20. The film delves into the creative process behind some of Disney's most beloved stories, including Avatar, Star Wars, Marvel Cinematic Universe, Pixar, Frozen, and Zootopia.

The documentary features candid conversations with top Disney creatives, including Bob Iger, James Cameron, Jon Favreau, Kevin Feige, Jennifer Lee, Pete Docter, Dave Filoni, Jared Bush, and Josh D'Amaro. They discuss how stories come to life at Disney's theme parks around the world.

Iwerks said she wanted to understand what sparks the imagination of these storytellers. 'I discovered a common thread: they often traced their creative journeys back to a single childhood moment - walking through the gates of Disneyland and realizing that impossible dreams could become real,' Iwerks explained.
