Amazon Sued Over Antitrust Allegations in Delivery Service Program

New Jersey Attorney General Jennifer Davenport has filed a lawsuit against Amazon on antitrust grounds. The complaint alleges that Amazon abuses its power over third-party delivery contractors, suppressing competition and harming workers.

The suit claims that Amazon's Delivery Service Partner program allows the company to exert control over wages, schedules, and uniforms of delivery drivers, who are often economically dependent on Amazon and unable to operate independently.

Davenport accused Amazon of having a 'monopsony' over the market for delivery driver services, giving it outsized influence over employment conditions. She stated that this allows Amazon to hold down driver wages.
