Disney Cruise Lines' Adult Oasis Turns Out to Be a Bottleneck

A Disney cruise might seem like an unlikely vacation for adults, but one traveler discovered that it's actually become a haven for grown-ups who love the brand. The Disney Destiny, launched in November 2025, offers a range of luxurious adult-only spaces, from cocktail bars to specialty restaurants and a spa.

The ship's designers aimed to create an elevated, immersive experience for adults, but they may have inadvertently created a problem by placing some entertainment offerings inside these intimate spaces. The result is a bottleneck that can make it difficult for guests to get into the popular venues.

The traveler and her mother tried to visit De Vil's, a 101 Dalmatians-inspired cocktail lounge, but found themselves waiting in line with hundreds of others. They managed to get seats by arriving between dinner sittings and quietly watching for other guests to leave, but it was a stressful experience that didn't feel like the relaxation they were hoping for.

The designers explained that their goal is to create spaces that feel distinctly adult, but also connected to the rest of the ship. However, they may need to rethink this approach and find ways to accommodate more guests in these popular venues. After all, Disney has already solved this problem before on another ship, the Disney Wonder.
