Disney Cuts Hundreds More Jobs Amid Ongoing Cost Reduction Efforts
The Walt Disney Company (DIS) is making more job cuts across various departments as part of its cost reduction efforts. According to reports, hundreds of employees are being laid off in human resources and IT departments across corporate and divisions.
This marks the third round of layoffs at Disney this year under CEO Josh D'Amaro's leadership. The company has been working to create incremental capacity for growth and evaluate various cost-cutting measures.
In April, Disney cut around 1,000 jobs across multiple departments, including marketing, studios, television, ESPN, products, and technology. In July, the company eliminated several hundred more positions in corporate functions, while in August, it offered early-retirement buyout packages to senior executives.
