Disney Delays Avatar Ride as Tomorrowland Transformation Takes Priority
The Disneyland Resort has delayed construction on its planned Avatar experience at Disney California Adventure. The project was initially set to debut after the openings of Avengers Campus and Coco-themed boat ride, but has been pushed back due to Disney's focus on reimagining Tomorrowland for the park's 75th anniversary in 2030.
Some fans are disappointed by the delay, while others have expressed interest in seeing a different attraction at DCA. Shanghai Disneyland's Zootopia land and Monsters Inc. dark ride have been suggested as alternatives, but many believe that an Avatar experience based on the Shanghai Pirates ride system would be a spectacular addition to the park.
The Shanghai Pirates ride system is tipped to be installed not only in California but also at Disney Adventure World at Disneyland Paris, although no official timeline has been confirmed. Disney fans are eagerly awaiting the debut of the Avatar experience, and some have expressed interest in seeing it before its potential installation at other parks.
