Disney Demolishes Gazebo as Coco Ride Construction Continues

The Paradise Garden Grill area in Disney California Adventure is undergoing changes to accommodate the upcoming Coco-themed boat ride. The demolition of a large gazebo, which had been used for character meet-and-greets and special events, has taken place, making way for expanded restrooms.

According to cast members, the additional restroom facilities are necessary due to the expected heavy traffic generated by the new attraction. The Coco ride will be a family-friendly experience with no height requirement, allowing guests of all ages to participate.

The area's Plaza de la Familia celebration continues, featuring live entertainment and food inspired by the film Coco. While Disney has not announced any plans to permanently theme the area to Coco, it is possible that the ride's opening may coincide with expanded Coco-inspired offerings in the park.

Concept art for the Coco attraction shows guests joining Miguel and his family on a journey through cherished memories, including Miguel's voyage to the Land of the Dead. Disney has not announced an official opening date for the ride but predicts it will debut in 2029.
