Disney Develops Personalized Ride Experience System
The Walt Disney Company has filed a patent for a system that helps park guests choose rides based on their preferences. The patent, titled 'Personalized Notification of Attractions Including User Preferences or Aversions,' was granted on August 20th, 2026.
The system uses a processor and memory to store software and user preferences, which can include likes or dislikes. Guests input their preferences in the My Disney Experience app, and the system compares ride data with those preferences to determine if an attraction is suited for them.
Disney recommends noting specific ride features such as dark scenes, flashing lights, sharp turns, and blood and gore. The system sends alerts via visual, audio, or haptic notifications on devices like phones or smartwatches when a ride matches user preferences or aversions.
