Disney Ditches Single Rider Option for Expedition Everest
Walt Disney World is ending its Single Rider service at Expedition Everest, Legend of the Forbidden Mountain, effective September 21, 2026. This change follows months of adjustments to how Cast Members sort parties before they reach the loading platform.
The decision comes after testing a new loading process that improved standby efficiency and lowered average waits. The Single Rider service allowed guests to fill seats left open by those using standby or Lightning Lane entrances.
Under the new system, regular visitors will need to use the regular options available for Everest, such as standby or Lightning Lane. Disney's testing points to improved standby performance without maintaining a separate Single Rider queue.
