Disney Ditches Tabasco for Tapatío as Kraft Heinz Deal Takes Hold
Walt Disney World has quietly replaced Tabasco hot sauce packets with Tapatío in its restaurants, as part of an exclusive partnership with Kraft Heinz announced earlier this year. The swap has been spotted at ABC Commissary at Disney's Hollywood Studios and The American Adventure in EPCOT.
The change is due to the Kraft Heinz deal, which made the company the exclusive provider of select condiments across North America, covering 10 brands including HEINZ ketchup. As a result, Tabasco packets are being phased out, but hot sauce will still be available at Disney restaurants.
Tapatío has a devoted following in the US, particularly in the western states, and is known for its thicker consistency and less vinegar-forward profile compared to Tabasco. While some guests may be disappointed by the change, others see it as an upgrade. For those who prefer Tabasco, Disney allows guests to bring their own condiments.
