Disney Dreamers Academy Expands Reach Through New Collaboration
Walt Disney World's Disney Dreamers Academy has announced a significant expansion of its program through a new collaboration with Boys & Girls Clubs. This partnership aims to reach even more young people from underrepresented communities and empower them to dream beyond their imagination.
The Disney Dreamers Academy, which began nearly two decades ago, selects 100 high school students annually to participate in a five-day event at Walt Disney World Resort. The program has had a profound impact on participants' educational and professional journeys, with many citing increased confidence and opportunities for growth.
As the academy approaches its 20-year milestone, it will evolve into a year-round, multi-year experience that reaches students earlier in their academic journey. A pilot program has been developed in collaboration with participating Boys & Girls Clubs and youth development experts, targeting middle school Club members in Orlando, Miami, Atlanta, and Houston.
The first class of 200 students will be selected by participating Boys & Girls Clubs in October, with the program beginning in January 2027. This new model draws on the deep connections that local Boys & Girls Clubs have with young people and families, bringing Disney Dreamers Academy into trusted community spaces.
