Disney Dreamers Academy Kicks Off New Era in Orlando with First Class of 50 Central Florida Students
The Disney Dreamers Academy has kicked off its new era in Orlando, welcoming its first class of 50 Central Florida students. These young individuals were chosen from among a pool of 200 students selected by Boys & Girls Clubs in four metropolitan areas: Orlando, Miami, Atlanta, and Houston.
At the kickoff celebration held at the Boys & Girls Club Walt Disney World Clubhouse, the students participated in interactive activities inspired by the four Walt Disney World theme parks. They made their own Mickey Mouse ears, engaged in Star Wars droid racing, and met beloved Disney characters like Mickey, Minnie, Daisy, Donald, Mirabel, and Tiana.
The Disney Dreamers Academy has a 19-year legacy of empowering and inspiring students, according to Tajiana Ancora-Brown, Director of External Affairs at Walt Disney World. The program's new pilot focuses on middle school Club members, offering a longer journey with year-round programming, mentorship, career exploration, leadership development, and immersive experiences.
