Disney Ends Single Rider Line at Expedition Everest
The Single Rider line at Expedition Everest in Animal Kingdom will disappear on September 21, 2026. This change is part of a larger shift in how Disney fills seats on this popular thrill attraction. The new system involves sorting standby guests into odd and even numbered parties before boarding, which reduces the need for Single Rider guests to fill gaps.
Disney has been testing this new approach since May, with a brief trial run in July where the Single Rider signage was briefly removed. During this time, Disney observed lower average standby wait times, which is seen as a key benefit of the change.
The discontinuation of Single Rider at Expedition Everest will affect solo visitors and groups willing to split up, who previously used this line to get on the ride more quickly. However, Disney has not signaled any broader changes to the Single Rider program across other parks, such as EPCOT and Hollywood Studios.
