Disney Faces New Abuse Allegations from Former Child Actress
Former child actress Raquel Lee has filed a lawsuit against Disney alleging she was sexually assaulted by an employee while filming The Poof Point in 2001. At the time, Lee was just 14 years old.
The lawsuit claims that a middle-aged Disney staff member gave her alcohol and assaulted her in a Utah hotel room. The employee allegedly invited Lee to his room under the pretense of practicing lines for the movie.
Lee's legal team emphasized the need for accountability in the entertainment industry, stating 'This conduct is inexcusable, and those involved, directly or indirectly, must be held accountable.'
Disney has declined to comment on the lawsuit, which also criticizes the company for failing to protect Lee and separating her from her guardian during filming.
