Disney Granddaughter Recalls Secret Set Visit Incident

The Walt Disney Company celebrated its founder's legacy at D23 on Friday night. The event honored the life and work of Walt Disney, who died nearly 60 years ago. One attendee was Joanna Miller, Disney's granddaughter.

Miller shared a story about sneaking onto the set of Mary Poppins when she was a child. She said that her grandfather would often let them roam the Disney film lot while he worked in his office.

The stage doors were not locked at the time, and Miller and her siblings would sometimes sneak into the sets. One day, they accidentally knocked over a prop on the Mary Poppins set, but it was never reported to Walt Disney.

Miller said she never told her grandfather about the incident. The event also honored other key figures in Disney's history, including Bob Gurr and Floyd Norman.
