Disney Hikes Prices on Disney+, Hulu Amid Streaming Inflation
Disney has raised the prices of its Disney+ and Hulu streaming services. The ad-free bundle now costs $21.99 per month, up from $19.99, while standalone ad-free plans for each service have increased to $21.49 per month.
The price hike comes as part of a broader trend of rising costs for streaming platforms. Other services such as Peacock and Apple TV raised their prices in August, and Netflix did so at the beginning of 2026.
Disney's revenue from Disney+ and Hulu entertainment streaming rose 11% to $5.5 billion in the third quarter of 2026, according to the company's financial results. The increase was driven by a rise in subscribers and the impact of previous price increases.
The company is also exploring new ways to make its streaming business profitable, including introducing a free ad-supported tier of Disney+ and launching new features such as curated playlists.
