Disney Hollywood Studios Vacation Fun Attraction Closing October 28
Disney’s Hollywood Studios is preparing to temporarily close the Vacation Fun attraction once again, just weeks after its most recent reopening. The animated short featuring Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse will shut down on October 28, 2026, leaving guests with only a few days to experience it before the closure begins. This marks the fourth interruption for the attraction in under a year, as Disney continues to repurpose the Mickey Shorts Theater for various events and merchandise sales.
The closure coincides with the timing of last year’s Disney Jollywood Nights, a separately ticketed holiday event that transformed the theater into a merchandise location. While Disney has not officially confirmed the connection, the pattern suggests that Vacation Fun will remain closed throughout much of the holiday season, potentially reopening in early January 2027. This would follow the same timeline as the 2025 shutdown, which lasted from late October through late December.
Since its debut in March 2020, Vacation Fun has become a popular indoor escape for guests looking to avoid crowds and long lines. However, its frequent closures have made its operating schedule less predictable. The attraction has previously closed for events like Star Wars May the 4th merchandise sales and Walt Disney World Annual Passholder magnet distributions. Despite its smaller scale compared to major rides, Vacation Fun provides a valuable break for families, particularly during busy park hours.
As Hollywood Studios continues to evolve, the repeated repurposing of the Mickey Shorts Theater highlights Disney’s need for flexible space. While the temporary closure may inconvenience some visitors, it reflects the park’s ongoing efforts to accommodate new experiences and seasonal offerings. For now, guests have until October 27, 2026, to enjoy Vacation Fun before the doors close once again.
