Disney Lands Massive Cypress Campus in $115 Million Deal
The Walt Disney Company has acquired a significant piece of land in Cypress, California, purchasing a 25-acre corporate campus for $115 million. Located just six miles from the Disneyland Resort, this purchase has sparked interest among fans and industry experts alike.
The former U.S. headquarters of Yamaha Motor Corp., the property was sold to Walt Disney Parks and Resorts U.S. Inc. and is expected to be used for corporate or operational purposes. While Disney has not announced specific plans for the site, the acquisition gives the company additional flexibility as it manages its limited land holdings in Anaheim.
This move follows major approvals for DisneylandForward, a long-term planning initiative adopted by the Anaheim City Council that provides more flexibility in how Disney can use its existing properties. The plan does not create additional acreage inside the Disneyland Resort but gives Disney greater freedom to determine where different types of development can occur.
