Disney Lawyer Stalked by Man Who Made Hoax Bomb Threat
A 25-year-old man from Northern California is facing sentencing for making a hoax bomb threat against Walt Disney Company and admitting to harassing and stalking one of their lawyers. Seth Daniel Stewart, also known as 'Angel Cross', pleaded guilty in May to conveying false information concerning the use of an explosive device, which carries a possible prison sentence of up to 10 years.
The case began in September 2022 when Stewart attempted to acquire the rights to the popular comedy-action series 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' from Disney. After his overtures were declined and he received a cease-and-desist letter from the lawyer, Stewart started sending threatening and harassing emails and voicemails.
In March 2023, Stewart posted personal identifying information for the lawyer and other employees to a dark web 'doxing' website, including names, job titles, home addresses, and phone numbers. He also left voicemails with the victim, threatening to show up at Disney's offices and stating he was going to 'kill' the lawyer.
A temporary restraining order was issued against Stewart in June 2024, which ordered him not to harass or contact the victim attorney in any way.
