US Cities Beyond NYC and Chicago Showcase Engineering Marvels

The US has its fair share of impressive skyscrapers, but some of the tallest buildings can be found in cities outside New York and Chicago. One such example is Philadelphia's Comcast Technology Center, which stands at an impressive 1,121 ft (342 m) tall and serves as the headquarters for Comcast Corporation and NBCUniversal's Philadelphia operations.

The building was completed in 2018 and features a unique glass façade that narrows and angles upward, creating a tapered appearance. Its interior includes offices, television studios, restaurants, and the Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia, which occupies the upper floors and boasts a three-story sky lobby with views across the city.

In Los Angeles, the Wilshire Grand Center is the tallest building in both California and every state west of the Mississippi River, rising 1,100 ft (335 m) above downtown LA. Completed in 2017, it replaced the former Wilshire Grand Hotel and features a distinctive sail-shaped crown with a glass-enclosed spire.

The Salesforce Tower in San Francisco is another notable example, standing at 1,070 ft (326 m) tall and serving as the headquarters for none other than Salesforce. Completed in 2018, it boasts a tapered form created by its gradually narrowing glass exterior and rounded corners.
