Disney Legends Cavalcade Set for D23 Celebration at Disneyland

The Disneyland resort is preparing for a special celebration of Disney Legends during the upcoming D23 fan convention. A Disney Legends Cavalcade will take place on August 13th at 1:30 pm in Main Street USA, featuring select Disney and Pixar characters and Disney Legends riding aboard Disneyland's double-decker bus and other vehicles.

The cavalcade is a unique experience that sets expectations below what fans have come to expect from a full-fledged parade. The event is part of the three-day D23 fan convention, which kicks off on August 14th at the Anaheim Convention Center.

A total of eight Disney Legends will be inducted during the D23 convention, with an additional 11 new legends to be honored on Sunday, August 16th. Among those being recognized are voice actors, producers, animators, and musicians who have made significant contributions to Disney films, TV shows, music, and theme parks.

Some notable inductees include Alan Menken, a renowned song composer for classic Disney movies such as 'The Little Mermaid' and 'Beauty and the Beast'; Mark Henn, an animator of iconic characters like Mickey Mouse and Ariel; and Joe Rohde, Walt Disney Imagineering's creative executive who worked on various theme park projects.
