Disney Legends to Share Insights at IAAPA Expo
The International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) has announced its Legends Panel for this year's IAAPA Expo. The panel will feature three notable Disney creatives: Bob Weis, former president of Walt Disney Imagineering; Joe Rohde, retired Imagineer; and filmmaker Leslie Iwerks.
Weis was with WDI from 1980 to 2022 and led the company for five years. During his tenure, he oversaw the development of several major projects, including Disney's Hollywood Studios, Shanghai Disney, Tokyo Disneyland, and the expansion of Disney California Adventure.
Rohde's Imagineering career includes being the lead designer for Disney's Animal Kingdom theme park and Aulani, the Disney Vacation Club resort in Hawaii. He retired from WDI in early 2021.
Iwerks has directed several films, including 'The Pixar Story,' 'The Imagineering Story,' and 'Disney Worldbuilders.' The panel will be moderated by Bob Rogers, founder of BRC Imagination Arts and author of 'Deep Story.'
