Disney Merges Consumer Products Under Studios Umbrella
Disney has announced significant changes to its Consumer Products division, merging global licensing and publishing under the Studios umbrella. The move is set to take effect on October 4th, with Disney Parks merchandise and Disney Stores remaining under Experiences. This reorganization aims to align these businesses more closely with Disney's creative content groups.
Cathleen Taff has been appointed as President of Disney Entertainment, Studios and Consumer Products, reporting directly to Alan Bergman, Chairman of Studios. In her expanded role, she will oversee the newly integrated DCP businesses, while continuing to manage production services, franchise management, and theatrical distribution for various studio labels.
Taff brings 30 years of experience with Disney, having held senior executive positions in various areas, including technology, operations, labor relations, and stage productions. Under her leadership, Disney's theatrical distribution team achieved a record-breaking $11 billion worldwide box office revenue in 2019, including the release of seven billion-dollar films.
Lisa Baldzicki will continue to lead the Disney Parks merchandise business with added responsibility for global Parks merchandise, as well as owned-and-operated retail businesses, reporting to Thomas Mazloum, Chairman of Disney Experiences. She will oversee a newly formed team identifying emerging trends and opportunities, scaling successful ideas across the Disney Experiences portfolio.
