Disney Names Adam Smith Chairman of Direct-to-Consumer
Adam Smith has been named Chairman of Direct-to-Consumer at Disney Entertainment. In this role, he will oversee product, engineering, advertising technology, programming strategy, partnerships, and data and analytics for both Disney+ and Hulu.
The announcement was made by Dana Walden, President and Chief Creative Officer of The Walt Disney Company. Smith joined Disney in 2024 as Co-President, Direct-to-Consumer and Chief Product and Technology Officer for Disney Entertainment and ESPN.
He previously spent over 20 years at Google and YouTube. Smith expressed his gratitude to the team and mentioned that their vision is clear: make Disney+ the connection point for fans everywhere to engage with the full breadth and depth of the broader Disney ecosystem.
