Disney Names Adam Smith New DTC Chairman
Disney has appointed Adam Smith as its new Direct-to-Consumer Chairman of Disney Entertainment. This move comes after the company's restructuring of its Consumer Products Division, which is behind Disney merchandise and products. The division was moved to Disney Entertainment Studios in August.
The restructuring aimed to simplify the process under a single executive, making it easier for CEO Josh D'Amaro to achieve his goal of making Disney+ the 'digital centerpiece' of the company.
Dana Walden, Disney's president and chief creative officer, praised Smith for his exceptional job in building a world-class team and enhancing the Disney+ user experience globally. Smith expressed excitement about his new role, stating that he aims to make Disney+ the connection point for fans worldwide to engage with the broader Disney ecosystem.
