Disney Names Karandeep Anand as First Chief Technology Officer

Disney has named Karandeep Anand, CEO of Character.ai, as its first Chief Technology Officer. The appointment is effective October 2, and Anand will report directly to CEO Josh D'Amaro. As CTO, he will oversee the company's enterprise technology, infrastructure, data, and AI platforms.

Anand brings a wealth of experience to the role, having led Character.ai through significant growth while prioritizing user trust and safety. He previously held senior leadership positions at Meta, Facebook, and Microsoft, where he was part of the team that built the Azure platform.

D'Amaro has emphasized the importance of technology in driving Disney's growth, particularly with the rise of its streaming service Disney+. With Anand on board, the company is poised to further modernize its approach to technology.
