Disney Opens Up Its IP Vault for TikTok Creators
TikTok creators are getting a boost from Disney as the two companies partner to bring beloved characters and franchises to the popular video app. The agreement will give TikTokers access to hundreds of films and series from Disney's vast library, including Marvel, Pixar, Star Wars, and FX.
'The best storytellers are fans first,' said Disney Chief Marketing and Brand Officer Asad Ayaz in a statement. 'That has always been true at Disney, and today, fans are celebrating our stories in entirely new ways.'
The partnership is part of Disney's effort to connect with creators and stay competitive in the market. Netflix's spending spree has brought creator videos to its shores, while Amazon Prime Video has formed an alliance with MrBeast.
Disney will initially pilot its agreement with TikTok in the U.S. before expanding to other regions. The first creator videos featuring Disney IP are expected to arrive 'in the coming months.'
