Disney Parks Close on 9/11: A Day of Tragedy and Camaraderie

The cast members used a 'human wall procedure' to gently usher guests out of the parks, forming a line and guiding them towards the exit. Guests who left early received complimentary tickets on their way out. At Disneyland, the gates were never opened that day, with cast members preparing for opening before being instructed to close the park.

In the days following 9/11, Disneyland Resort implemented new security measures, including adding security gates and police presence on property, as well as changing the shuttle route for cast members.
