Disney Parks Unveil Massive Expansion Plans With New Lands and Rides
Disney parks are expanding rapidly, with new lands and rides being announced for various locations around the world.
At Disney World's Magic Kingdom, a Cars-themed expansion called Piston Peak is set to open soon. The area will feature two new rides: Cars Ridge Run Rally, where guests can take a wild terrain ride through mountain trails, geysers, and mud holes; and Miss Fritter's Daredevil Spin-Along, a family-friendly ride where guests enter into a demolition derby with the iconic character from Cars 3.
The Villains Land expansion at Magic Kingdom will also include two new rides: a Maleficent-themed roller coaster where guests will come face-to-face with the Mistress of All Evil herself; and a dark ride hosted by the Evil Queen's magic mirror, where guests will be magically transported into the mystical Mirror Realm.
EPCOT is receiving an overhaul of its Spaceship Earth attraction, which will expand on its story from human communication to the broader theme of human connection. The update has been postponed several times and no timeline has been revealed yet.
