Disney+ Partners With Vidio for Indonesian Streaming Bundle
Disney+ has partnered with Indonesian streamer Vidio to launch a joint subscription service that combines Disney's global franchises with local originals and live sports.
The 'Vidio Ultimate Disney+ All Screen Bundle' includes Disney+, Vidio Ultimate All Screen, and ESPN programming, offering subscribers access to Marvel movies, Star Wars series, Premier League soccer, and UEFA Champions League games.
The bundle will also feature APAC originals from Disney+, including 20th Century Studios' 'The Devil Wears Prada 2', Lucasfilm's 'Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu', and Marvel Studios' 'Deadpool & Wolverine'. Vidio Original Series and sinetron, the local TV soaps, will also be available to Disney+ subscribers.
Vidio CEO Sutanto Hartono said the partnership will bring greater choice and better value for Indonesian audiences, who are looking for more from their streaming subscriptions. The 'Taste of Disney+' collection on Vidio will allow users to sample individual episodes of Disney+ content before committing to the full bundle.
This is not the first regional partnership for Disney+, which has also collaborated with TVING and Wavve in Korea, Hulu Japan, and Astro in Malaysia. The company aims to accelerate collaborations and expand its reach in Asia Pacific.
