Disney Photo Services: Understanding the Difference Between PhotoPass and Memory Maker

Disney's PhotoPass and Memory Maker services have left many visitors confused about what they're actually paying for. According to Disney's September 21 PhotoPass guide, photographers can be found at park landmarks, character greetings, resort locations, and Disney Springs.

The photos taken by these photographers appear in the My Disney Experience app or the PhotoPass gallery, but downloading them isn't always included. With PhotoPass, you can purchase individual downloads of your favorite pictures.

Memory Maker, on the other hand, offers unlimited vacation downloads across your trip. Buying it in advance can save you $25, according to Disney's guide. However, you should only consider this option if you plan to use the service frequently.

If you're looking for a more personalized experience, Disney also offers Capture Your Moment and Signature Portrait Sessions. These sessions include photo downloads, but they come with an additional cost. A complimentary studio photo session is available at the Disney PhotoPass Studio in Disney Springs, but the resulting images still require a separate download purchase.
