Disney Prepares Maintenance Work for Pirates of the Caribbean Attraction

The Pirates of the Caribbean attraction at Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World is set to undergo some behind-the-scenes maintenance. The classic boat ride, which has been a staple since its opening in December 1973, will likely see changes aimed at keeping it running smoothly.

The news comes from two construction permits filed by Disney's Sourcing & Procurement team with Orange County. These permits cover the entire footprint of the ride and involve Buena Vista Construction Company, Disney's in-house construction company.

While Disney has not announced any closure or refurbishment period for the attraction, it's possible that a shutdown may be planned. The work could also be done overnight to minimize disruption to guests.
