Disney Promotes Adam Smith to Lead Direct-to-Consumer Business
Disney has announced two key promotions within its executive ranks. Adam Smith has been named Chairman of Direct-to-Consumer for Disney Entertainment, overseeing Disney+ and Hulu. This includes product development, engineering, advertising technology, programming strategy, viewer experience, partnerships, and data & analytics.
In this role, Smith will be responsible for the company's global entertainment SVOD business, driving strategy, development, and continued innovation across streaming platforms, proprietary advertising technology, emerging technologies, and more. He has been instrumental in building a world-class team of product and technology leaders.
Joe Earley, former Co-President of Disney Entertainment's DTC department, will assume the newly created role of President, Disney Entertainment Television Franchise and Content Strategy. In this position, he will oversee all content and production for international originals, production, labor relations, and creative talent development.
Disney President & Chief Creative Officer Dana Walden praised both Smith and Earley, highlighting their contributions to the company's direct-to-consumer business.
