Disney Raises Theme Park Ticket Prices with Premium Pass Near $500
Disney has raised ticket prices for its theme parks, with the premium Incredi-Pass at Disney World now costing nearly $500. The price hike includes a $120 increase for the top-tier annual pass, bringing it to around $1,800. Despite the steep increases, Disney executives claim they are mindful of families' budgets amid inflation and economic challenges.
Thomas Mazloum, chairman of Disney Experiences, emphasized that the company prioritizes guest feedback, especially during tough economic times. He noted that families are carefully planning their visits to manage costs. The base ticket price for Disney World's Animal Kingdom remains unchanged at around $120, while Disneyland's base ticket holds steady at $104.
Disney is also experimenting with an AI tool on its website, allowing visitors to ask questions about the cheapest dates to visit. The company aims to keep base ticket prices low while charging more for add-ons like park hopping and line skipping. Disney CFO Hugh Johnston recently highlighted the company's focus on attracting younger families.
To celebrate its 55th anniversary, Disney World is expanding the Magic Kingdom with new sections themed around the Cars movies and a spooky area called Villains Land. Animal Kingdom will introduce Indiana Jones and Encanto-themed experiences, while Hollywood Studios will feature a Monsters, Inc.-inspired section. Overall park attendance saw a 3% increase in the spring.
