Disney Refreshes Classic Attractions and Expands Cruise Line
Disney turned to actor Neil Patrick Harris to host its Experiences showcase presentation at D23, an in-house fan convention. The event was attended by Disney's Chairman of Experiences Thomas Mazloum, who discussed several new projects and updates for the company's theme parks.
Mazloum spoke about the refresh of Figment, one of Epcot's original rides, which will include the return of the Dreamfinder character. He also discussed the revitalization of Disneyland's Tomorrowland, a concept that 'will never be completed if there is enough imagination left in the world.'
The revamp of Tomorrowland will include new attractions and open spaces, with the goal of 'paying attention to all our fans and guests' and harmonizing the various demands. Mazloum emphasized the importance of respecting Disney's past while using optimism as inspiration for future creative projects.
Other updates mentioned during the presentation included the completion of a Cars-themed area at Disneyland and the progress on Villains Land at Magic Kingdom. Mazloum also discussed the expansion of Disney Cruise Line, which will include new ships and itineraries in Alaska and Europe.
