Disney Reveals Latest Concept Art for Welcome to Monstropolis Pre-Show
Disney has unveiled a third piece of concept art for the "Welcome to Monstropolis" pre-show at the Glob Theater in Monstropolis, part of Disney's Hollywood Studios. This latest design follows two previous versions, but Disney has not indicated which one will be built, leaving room for further changes before the attraction opens.
The new concept art introduces several updates, including a revised concessions area now labeled "Glob Concessions," a reworked counter layout with additional machines, and a simpler lighting setup. The color scheme has shifted to greens and golds, replacing earlier teal and blue walls, and a green and gold carpet pattern has been introduced. Dark wood paneling and a balcony with iron railings now appear on the right side of the room.
Posters have also been adjusted, with "Noodles" remaining on the left rear wall and a new purple and black design replacing another poster on the right. The "Little Scare Machine" poster has been moved to the left wall, where framed posters now line the space. The chandeliers and "Noodles" poster from the second version have been retained.
While details about the pre-show experience remain scarce, the room appears to maintain the shape it had during the previous MuppetVision 3D attraction. The Glob Theater will host "Welcome to Monstropolis," a show featuring Mike and Sulley, with an original song by Disney Legend Randy Newman. Disney has confirmed that parts of Monstropolis will open in 2027.
