Disney Reveals Monster-Themed Dining Options for Hollywood Studios
Disney has unveiled new details about the dining options coming to Monstropolis at Hollywood Studios, blending familiar foods with monster-inspired twists. The culinary team, led by Chef Brian Piasecki and Beverage Director Evan Rosenthal, described the dishes as "grossly fun," aiming to evoke characters and scenes from the Monsters, Inc. films while remaining appealing to guests. The challenge was balancing authenticity to a monster’s experience with broader guest appeal, such as deciding whether a dish had too many eyeballs, the answer: never.
Harryhausen’s, the table-service restaurant, will feature an Audio-Animatronic sushi chef with eight tentacles and a menu that includes ramen with tonkotsu broth, alkaline noodles, and eyeball-shaped fishcakes. Rosenthal emphasized the upscale, family-friendly vibe, designed to appeal to all ages. The quick-service Archie’s Scare Pig Pizza, inspired by Monsters University, will offer college-pizza-shop nostalgia with unexpected touches, including a fictional drink called Blort, which has never been seen or tasted on screen.
Disney hinted at a purple frozen Blort with Scream Apple Foam, though it’s not yet confirmed. The land will also include the Monsters University Alumni Club and the Scareporium retail space. Parts of Monstropolis are set to open in 2027.
