Disney Ride Closures: October 2026 Refurbishments and Holiday Changes Announced
Disney has announced seven ride closures for October 2026 across Disneyland and Disney World. The most iconic rides at Disneyland, such as Indiana Jones Adventure and Mad Tea Party, will be closed during this period. Other popular attractions like Davy Crockett's Explorer Canoes and Sailing Ship Columbia will also undergo refurbishment.
The reason behind these closures varies from routine maintenance to substantial changes or holiday overlays. For instance, 'it's a small world' will close on October 30 to transform into 'it's a small world' Holiday and reopen on November 13. The Walt Disney World Railroad at Magic Kingdom will be closed for refurbishment starting September 28 through October 29.
Some of these closures are part of larger projects, such as the overhaul of Carousel of Progress in Magic Kingdom, which is expected to reopen in 2027. Tiana's Bayou Adventure and nearby gift shops Critter Co-Op and Tiana's Bayou General will close on November 2 for an unspecified period.
