Disney Secures Deal with Shawn Levy for New Projects

Disney's 20th Television has secured a deal with Shawn Levy and his production company, 21 Laps Entertainment. This new partnership will have Levy developing and producing projects for Disney starting in October 2027.

Levy is no stranger to the industry, having previously worked at Netflix since 2017. During his time there, he executive produced all five seasons of 'Stranger Things' and directed several episodes, as well as writing and directing the 2022 film 'The Adam Project'. He also co-wrote, directed, and produced the 2024 Marvel Cinematic Universe film 'Deadpool & Wolverine', which marks a notable collaboration between Levy and Disney.

Levy's career began at Disney with his early work on episodes of the Disney Channel series 'The Famous Jett Jackson' and later on projects such as 'Cheaper by the Dozen' (2003) and the first three 'Night at the Museum' films (2006-2014). His next two Disney projects are already set, including directing Lucasfilm's 'Star Wars: Starfighter' and Marvel's 'Ghost Rider', both starring Ryan Gosling.
