Disney Secures Major TV Deal with Stranger Things Producer Shawn Levy
Disney has landed Shawn Levy and his production company, 21 Laps Entertainment, in a major TV deal. The agreement sees Levy and 21 Laps sign a multiyear contract with Disney's 20th Television, which will start in October 2027.
The duo will develop and produce new television series for Disney's platforms and brands under the deal. This marks a significant addition to Disney's TV lineup, especially considering Levy's extensive experience working with Netflix on shows such as Stranger Things.
Levy has been an executive producer on Stranger Things since its first season and directed several episodes. He described the move as a 'homecoming', stating that Disney's approach to storytelling feels familiar to him.
