Disney Seeks Creator Partnerships at El Capitan Event
The Walt Disney Company kicked off its first creator event, Created in L.A., at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood. Over 350 creators, innovators, and industry leaders attended the two-day event to exchange ideas, build relationships, and explore the future of creator-led storytelling.
Creator and entrepreneur Jon Youshaei, who conceived and hosted the event, highlighted the power of the creators in attendance, noting that they have a combined following of over 1.6 billion on YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok.
Dana Walden, president and chief creative officer of Disney, emphasized the importance of partnerships between creators and Disney, saying 'We can tell some stories together.'
The event included keynote speakers and conversations, as well as the Golden State Award, which recognized strong filmmakers or subscriber count. The award went to Lucas and Curtis Nicotra for their film 'The Technoblade Movie,' and Zach King's parody of 'Star Wars,' 'Cardboard Strikes Back.'
