Disney Shakes Up DTC Leadership with New Appointments

Disney Entertainment has reorganized its direct-to-consumer leadership team, naming Adam Smith as Chairman of Direct-to-Consumer. Smith will oversee Disney's global entertainment streaming business, including strategy, product, engineering, advertising technology, programming, viewer experience, partnerships, and data and analytics for Disney+ and Hulu.

Smith joined Disney in 2024 and comes from a background at Google and YouTube, where he held senior roles across both companies. He was previously Co-President of Direct-to-Consumer and Chief Product & Technology Officer for Disney Entertainment and ESPN.

The company has also created a new position, President of Disney Entertainment Television Franchise and Content Strategy, which will be held by Joe Earley. Earley's role will focus on the strategic development and expansion of Disney's television franchises, including international originals, production, labor relations, and creative talent development.
