Disney Skyliner Disruption Causes Two-Hour Delays for Guests
A transportation problem at Walt Disney World caused major delays for guests trying to return to their hotels on August 18. The issue affected part of the gondola system's loading process, creating long lines and forcing Disney to change how guests boarded.
The problem occurred when a mechanism responsible for transferring gondolas to the mobility loading section broke down, leaving Cast Members to load and unload guests from the main line instead.
Guests who had already spent a full day at EPCOT or Disney's Hollywood Studios were particularly affected, with some reporting that their journeys back to their resorts took more than two hours.
The situation was eventually resolved when Disney brought in buses to help move stranded visitors. By the following morning, all Skyliner routes were once again operating normally.
