Disney Soars on 'Toy Story 5' and US Theme Park Attendance
Disney's financials for its third quarter were driven by two major factors: the success of 'Toy Story 5' at the box office and strong attendance at its US theme parks. The film has pulled in over $1 billion globally, making it a significant contributor to the company's revenue.
The Experiences division, which includes Disney's six global theme parks, reported a 20% increase in operating income to $3.02 billion, while revenue reached $9.97 billion. This growth was largely due to an increase in attendance from domestic tourists and annual passholders at US parks, with overall attendance rising by 3%.
Disney CEO Josh D'Amaro attributed the success of its theme parks to the company's consistent investments and the unique experience it provides to fans. He noted that spending was also up at domestic parks despite current economic uncertainty.
