Disney Stock Rises as Institutional Investors Make Adjustments
The Walt Disney Company (DIS) has seen its stock price rise due to various factors, including improved streaming momentum and strengthened management. According to a recent filing with the Securities & Exchange Commission, Sapient Capital LLC reduced its holdings in DIS by 20.4% in the second quarter, selling 62,750 shares worth $23.763 million.
This is not an isolated case as other institutional investors have also made adjustments to their stakes in the company. Swiss RE Ltd., for instance, purchased a new stake valued at approximately $25,000 during the fourth quarter. Meanwhile, Curio Wealth LLC increased its stake by 110.4% in the same period.
Despite these movements, Disney's stock price has been on an upward trend. The company's shares opened at $104.92 on Monday and have a market capitalization of $181.16 billion. In terms of financials, Disney reported EPS of $2.06 for the quarter, beating analyst estimates of $1.86.
The positive sentiment surrounding Disney is also reflected in analyst upgrades and downgrades. Several brokerages have raised their price targets on the company's stock, including Wolfe Research, which set a target of $131.00. However, some investors remain cautious due to concerns about growth and revenue pressure from potential free ad-supported streaming tiers.
