Disney Streaming Services Surpass $5 Billion Quarterly Revenue Mark
Disney's combined quarterly profit from its Disney+ and Hulu streaming services reached $712 million in Q3, a significant increase of 116% compared to the previous year. This growth is attributed to a rise in subscription revenue, which saw an 11% increase to $4.7 billion.
The revenue hike was driven by a combination of factors: a 9% boost from more subscribers, a 3% increase from higher effective rates, and a 1% favorable foreign exchange impact. Advertising revenue on the platform also rose by 3%, reaching $851 million.
Disney's international programming slate is gaining traction, with notable successes including 'Rivals' Season 2, 'The Perfect Crown,' and 'Dear Killer Nannies.' To further boost growth, the company plans to triple its local original series on Disney+ within the next three years to attract new users and reduce churn.
According to CEO Josh D'Amaro and CFO Hugh Johnston, this strategy is aimed at driving double-digit Entertainment SVOD operating margin for full-year fiscal 2026, excluding any impact from a 53-week year.
