Disney Sued for Alleged Failure to Protect Teen Star from Employee Assault

Former Disney Channel star Raquel Lee Bolleau has filed a lawsuit against The Walt Disney Company, alleging that she was repeatedly sexually assaulted by a male employee while filming the 2001 Disney Channel Original Movie The Poof Point. The alleged assaults occurred when Bolleau was just 14 years old.

According to the complaint, the employee supplied Bolleau with alcohol and assaulted her multiple times during production in Salt Lake City. He also allegedly assaulted her again on a flight back to California.

Bolleau claims that Disney personnel encouraged her to bond with the employee and separated her from her on-set guardian for most of the workday without adequate supervision. The lawsuit accuses Disney of failing to supervise and protect Bolleau despite alleged warning signs that something was wrong.

The complaint describes the alleged assailant as an adult, middle-aged male Disney employee involved in the production who made sexually explicit remarks about Bolleau's body, used hugs to get close to her, and whispered comments in her ear while cast and crew members were nearby.
