Disney Sued Over Alleged Child Abuse Cover-Up
A former Disney child star has filed a lawsuit against The Walt Disney Company for allegedly failing to protect her from repeated sexual assault and harassment on a film set in 2001. Raquel Lee Bolleau, now 39, claims she was groomed and abused by a male employee involved in the filming of The Poof Point while she was just 14 years old.
The abuse allegedly took place in plain view of the cast and crew on the Utah film set, with Bolleau claiming that no one at Disney intervened. She also alleges that she was given alcohol by the staff member and was separated from her guardian on set.
Bolleau's lawsuit claims that Disney repeatedly failed to protect her from the abuse, facilitating and concealing it instead. Her lawyer, Doug Wigdor, described the studio's alleged conduct as 'inexcusable' and called for those involved to be held accountable.
