Disney Taps Adam Smith to Lead Global Streaming Business
Disney continues its corporate musical chairs with another leadership shift in the entertainment industry. Adam Smith is being named chairman of direct-to-consumer for Disney Entertainment, a role that will see him oversee Disney's global entertainment streaming business.
In this position, Smith will be responsible for driving strategy, development, and innovation across Disney's streaming platforms, including Disney+ and Hulu. He will also lead the product, engineering, and adtech aspects of these services.
Dana Walden, president and chief creative officer at The Walt Disney Company, announced Smith's new role on Thursday, praising his exceptional work in building a team of product and technology leaders over the past two years.
